She played the role of Dr. Izzie Stevens on the ABC television drama Grey's Anatomy from 2005 to 2010, a role that earned her praise and recognition, including an award for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in an TV Drama Series in 2007 Even though they may not be the best of friends, Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl are still friends following her departure in 2010 on Grey's Anatomy. Over 100 episodes were produced by the duo, and probably created a long-lasting friendship between them as females, mothers and friends. Meredith Grey's birthday is believed to be 1978.
